Alright, since updating yesterday, felt I was in the mood for just one more update. With the help of Aunt Rennie, I've been able to create a new family tree as well as fill in a few more names in the current one. The new tree is of George and Elena woronuk, from the early 1800's. George was Nicholas's father, so there is a lot of interesting history that this new tree reveals for us all.
On another note, I just finished reading a bunch of emails that were forwarded to me by Gail from Jenn's adventures in Africa. When I say adventures, I really do mean adventures! They were an interesting read and once I get permission from Jenn, I hope to put it up on the site.

Thanks,

--Mike Woronuk

  • New Family Tree: George and Elena Woronuk

Four months in waiting and I've finally updated, lets all rejoice! Alright, its been a busy summer for me and I hope everyone had a great summer themselves.
First off I think I'll start with some awsome current news: Dawn Woronuk and Jim Leithead had a baby girl 6 days ago! Congratulations Dawn and Jim! Sasha Joy was born August 25, 2004. Weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz. Babby and parents apparently doing fine, according to Aunt Judy.
As I said, the summer has been busy, starting off with me graduating from High Shcool and now moving to Edmonton to go to the University of Alberta, scarey I know. Just after writing my last exam my Dad and I drove up to Edmonton for Jeff and Sarah's 'post' wedding reception! Jeff and Sarah later took off to Cuba to do their actual ceremonies, I hope to get some pictures from them soon. I'm sure they are spectacular and had a great time. Yes, yet another cousin married and likely many more to follow. So, congratulations to Jeff and Sarah Kupsch.
Other news and updates on family members:
  • Greg has moved up and is now the "Big Kahuna" of the Peace River Education system, he is now the Super Indendant, congrats!
  • Alex was accepted to a prestegious acting school, and is moving to Hollywood.
  • Jenn has had many adventures in her trek through Africa.
  • Chris had been in Japan for a while and just after finally returning to Canada, he decided he wanted to move back there after having great interviews with a Japanese company.
  • Uncle John is 'finally' retiring from teaching dentistry at the U of A this Christmas. As Aunt Rennie put it, "I think it might actually happen this time!"
  • Keith and Mila have betrayed us all and moved east to Toronto. Just kidding! Hope they have a great time out there.
  • Aunt Irene, Ryan, Adam, my Dad and I, all drove out to Victoria for a big fishing trip with Robin and Keith. We stopped to see Aunt Clair and Wayne. Uncle Dean showed up aswell. It was a great trip, and yes... I caught the biggest fish [woo hoo bragging rights] .
  • I'm moving to Edmonton, going to U of A, doing Business (Commerce).
I think thats all the news I know of. If you have more, feel free to let me, and the rest of the family know! I hope to be able to get more pictures from Jeff and Sarah, and I apologize for not having all that many of my own. Other than that, those living in Edmonton should look forward to having a hungry University nephew stopping by for a good meal every now and then!

Thanks,

--Mike Woronuk

Nothing too big here, fixed a couple errors that were brought to my attention. I also added a family picture of the John & Lorena Woronuk clan. Again, I will stress that one of the most valuable parts of this website is being able to have these pictures for everyone to see. So please, send me more, we all want to see them. Also, the history section was simply copied from the Wheatfields and Wildflowers book and is somewhat outdated [by 20 years]. So I think it might be nice to begin work on updating the history. We may have two options: A) [least work] Simply scan through and do minor updates to the history without continuation or B) [most work] We do major updates and continuation of the stories, possibly including new branch off's of the history to the second generation. If you have any thoughts or idea's, please contact me.

Thanks,

--Mike Woronuk

Well folks, I admit it has been a little to long since I've made any updates but I've come back with a wack of pictures for you all. I've also made some fixes to the family tree, however, there are still some spots that are either missing some last names or are spelled wrong I'm sure. I'm also SURE many of you have plenty of Christmass pictures of you and your families, so please send them to me, along with any other pictures you think we would all find interesting.

Thanks,

--Mike Woronuk

Exciting news, Tyler Powel, Clair and Wayne's son, was recently on national TV! He played as number 43, defense line for the St. Mary Huskies in the Vanier Cup on November 22. Congratulations on a game well played, I saw some of his tackles!

Updates! At long last I have openened the Family Tree section! I've made the first two generations, Nick & Erena's children and all their childrens spawn as well. I created the tree images and mapped them so that you can click on them. Clicking on the parent's box will bring you to their history/biography and clicking on their children will bring you to their family tree. In the works will be the generations both before and after the current ones I've made.
Note: There are a few maiden names that I dont have. If you know them, or find any other mistakes please email me. I hope you all enjoy the tree and now there is no reason for any of my cousins to ask me, "Am I related to that person?". Chewyish!?
Next up for updates, I will be trying to get the forum up. Content is growing and theres allot to find on the site, but I feel the forum is the crutial feature. When up, people can log in and post their own messages. I'm lookinf forward to its completion. I had thought the forum would be easyer to put up than the tree, but I suppose I was wrong on that assumption. However, don't get me wrong the tree was a decent amount of work aswell!

Little Raven signing out,

Updates

  • Major Update: Family Tree in service, construction tape down, wine bottle cracked.
  • Added 2 more albums into the media section.

Its been a while since my last news update but the fact that the forum idea has sort of fallen apart, due to technical issues, has sort of strunted the site's potential. None the less I've started work on creating the family tree. It will eventually include small bio's on everyone in the family. For this I will need people to send in the information. Before i get ahead of myself, i need to finish the tree. So just be aware that will be in the not so distant future.
There is a more important reason for updating the site. I'd like to congradulate Bryan and Sherry Woronuk in their Marrige! They were married in New Mexico on November 12, 2003. Best of luck out to them!

Dobranich,

--Mike Woronuk

Yee-Haw! Stampede is in town! Y'all mosey down to the grounds ya hear. I wont be going till sometime after this weekend because I'll be at Keith and Mila's wedding in Edmonton! I'll try to maybe post some pictures when I get back. As far as website updates I've added some pictures from Canada Day weekend, still working on a better way of posting them than just having a list of pictures. Still working on getting a forum up and the family tree.

Stampede It Up!

With this, I mark the first of hopefully many entries into the News section! I've just returned from a great weekend at Sylvan Lake with my Dad, Aunt Irene, Ryan and Adam and also Kevin and Alex. So I suppose that was a weekend full of family. Weather was great, the sun was nice and the water was fun. So back to business, I'm open to having anyone be able to post news here if they like. There have been a few updates to the website and most of them mainly due to the great comments and suggestions made by Rob Woronuk a.k.a 'Uncle Raven'. Let him set an example for all of you, that your comments and suggestions pay off! Rewording enough I hope...haha. Thats all for now.

Doahbre Deyn for now!
